the Enrekang district is actually the next-door neighbor of the Toraja area. Even though it borders the area, the two regions have different coffee tastes, influenced by geographical location and soil conditions. In addition, many coffee or roaster presenters often give the wrong name Kalosi Toraja coffee, even though Toraja coffee and Kalosi coffee are clearly different.

Kalosi Coffee has won specialty coffee No.1 and 2 of the 2008 Indonesian Specialty Coffee Contest, in Jember, East Java. This contest competes the aroma and flavor of various coffee commodities from all coffee producing regions in Indonesia. The contest was organized by the Indonesian Coffee Exporters Association (AEKI) in collaboration with the Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Center and several other parties. Certainly, the first and second place winners were captured by Enrekang Regency.

The type of coffee that is widely developed in the Kalosi area is arabica typica which is the rare and oldest coffee in the world, because it can only be cultivated in areas with an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level. In Indonesia, this type of coffee can only be grown in Enrekang Regency and several coffee plantations developed by the community and spread in several districts, namely Bungin, Baraka, Alla, Buntu Batu, Curio, Masalle, Baroko districts and a small part in Enrekang District, Malua and Anggeraja.
